Loneliness...
Loneliness is...
an emotional state in which a person experiences a powerful feeling of emptiness and isolation.
Loneliness is... more than just the feeling of wanting company or wanting to do something with another person.
Loneliness is... a feeling of being cut off, disconnected and alienated from other people.
Loneliness is...experiencing a subjective sense of inner emptiness or hollowness, with feelings of separation or isolation from the world.

No one would choose a friendless existence on condition of having all the other things in the world.

To dare to live alone is the rarest courage; since there are many who had rather meet their bitterest enemy in the field, than their own hearts in their closet.

Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, great enough to die for.

There is no greater sorrow than to recall in misery the time when we were happy.

We're all lonely for something we don't know we're lonely for. How else to explain the curious feeling that goes around feeling like missing somebody we've never even met?

With some people solitariness is an escape not from others but from themselves. For they see in the eyes of others only a reflection of themselves.

Ships that pass in the night, and speak each other in passing, Only a signal shown, and a distant voice in the darkness; So on the ocean of life, we pass and speak one another, Only a look and a voice, then darkness again and a silence.

Loneliness the clearest of crystal insight into your own soul, its the fear of one's own self that haunts the lonely.

If you are alone you belong entirely to yourself....If you are accompanied by even one companion you belong only half to yourself, or even less, in proportion to the thoughtlessness of his conduct; and if you have more than one companion you will fall more deeply into the same plight

Music was my refuge. I could crawl into the spaces between the notes and curl my back to loneliness.

When Christ said: "I was hungry and you fed me," he didn't mean only the hunger for bread and for food; he also meant the hunger to be loved. Jesus himself experienced this loneliness. He came amongst his own and his own received him not, and it hurt him then and it has kept on hurting him. The same hunger, the same loneliness, the same having no one to be accepted by and to be loved and wanted by. Every human being in that case resembles Christ in his loneliness; and that is the hardest part, that's real hunger.

God made everything out of nothing, but the nothingness shows through.

There's a cold wind blowing softly through a narrow, dark ravine. A sound is heard, soft and everywhere, like the rustle of silk. It echoes from every dismal reaching corner of the abyss, and whispers of the aching loneliness within the crevasse. A cold, blue-white light transcends an aura of weird lifelessness to the jagged rocks of the cleft walls. There appears a soul within all of this, like a thin frail mist, congealing within its center -- a tiny translucent gray cloud.

The body is a house of many windows: there we all sit, showing ourselves and crying on the passers-by to come and love us.
- Robert Louis Stevenson
Time takes it all, whether you want it to or not. Time takes it all, time bears it away, and in the end there is only darkness. Sometimes we find others in that darkness, and sometimes we lose them there again.

Ironically, loneliness frequently occurs in heavily populated cities; in these cities many people feel utterly alone and cut off, even when surrounded by throngs of other people. They experience a loss of identifiable community in an anonymous crowd. It is unclear whether loneliness is a condition aggravated by high population density itself, or simply part of the human condition brought on by this social milieu. Certainly, loneliness occurs even in societies with much smaller populations, but the sheer number of random people that one comes into contact with daily in a city, even if only briefly, may raise barriers to actually interacting more deeply with them and increase the feeling of being cut off and alone. Quantity of contact does not translate into quality of contact.

'Let's talk to each other; let's do things together so we won't be lonely.' And yet inevitably, we are really alone in these human forms. We can pretend; we can entertain each other; but that's about the best we can do. When it comes to the actual experience of life, we're very much alone; and to expect anyone else to take away our loneliness is asking too much."

Springaholic !!
The first large-scale lifestyle shopping centre in Kuching- The Spring ! I'm so excited about it. What with Kuching being a boring, small place with little shops to go to, this would be a heaven for all shopaholics. Eg, "MEEEE !! "
I asked my uncle who works there about when is the shopping centre opening. And he told me they are trying to finish before Christmas and I got all happy and excited that there's finally SOME place to go out during the holidays, only to be disappointed that The Spring is scheduled to open its doors to the public in early 2008, meaning probably before Chinese New Year. *sad face*
Anyhow, with 420,000 square feet of nett-lettable area, 150 shops, 1,500 carparks, Parkson Department Store, a Gourmet Supermarket, a Food Bazaar and 8-screen state-of-art Cineplex; I'm hoping The Spring is worth the wait !
I've heard about The Spring when I was in form 2, you know ! Now I'm finishing form 4 already, and going to form 5 very soon and it's not even done yet !! *grr*
I didn't find any interesting shops in The Spring except a few like Charles and Keith, Esprit, TheFaceShop, Factory Outlet Store (FOS), Kenny Rogers Roasters(?), Levis, Mango (MNG), MPH Bookstores, Nicole, NOSE, Padini, Quiksilver, Secret Recipe, Sox World, Starbucks Coffee, and ... ? Goodness, there's not even a Soda or P & CO ? *faints*
Anyway, the cool thing is The Spring even invented their own "Springlish". Haha. There's words like springadoodles (used as an exclamation of whimsy and joy), springmania (an excessive desire for retail therapy), springelicious! (exceedingly delightful or agreeable to the senses), springapalooza (a week-long celebration of joyful living & individual style, where revelers indulge in shopping, music, food & drink), springaholic( a shopper who is uncontrollably drawn to and derives great pleasure from The Spring), and I don't know what else. Coolness, ehh ?

Can anyone be a kind soul and buy me the Secret movie?
Did I just say I lost the urge to blog? I'm here again. Just feeling rather down. *sighs* I soooooooooooooooooooooooo badly wanted to watch Secret. I know I've watched it already, once in the cinema but I'm soooooo desperate to watch it again since the day I watched the movie. I've been listening to the soundtracks non-stop. The piano pieces and the soft music are just simply amazing. There's so many movies and series that I wanted to watch, so many things I wanted to do... B-U-T... ...
listening to the songs just made me feel even more pathetic. =(
*cries*
