You always hear people saying “As long as he/she has the heart to give, it’s already good enough”. True, to have a big heart to give unto others and not just keep on receiving is lovely and noble. Nevertheless, to be able to give what others really need is earnestness and thoughtfulness in its purest form. So to me, if you genuinely have the heart to offer, you would give the person what you thought he/she would need the most. You’d examine their personality, habits and what pleases them, what makes them… well, happy. It’s also during the time that you pick the gift for someone that you consider and thought for others. Not focusing on what you would normally like, but what other people preferred because it’s usually not the same thing but not many realise this (sad but true). In the end, your gift will reflect your thoughtfulness, attention to detail and your relationship with the person, whether you’re intimate like two peas in a pod or just merely friends in name.

I found out through most of my friends that most either “simply” buy last minute gifts, buy some decorative/plush toy/related items (since most girls likes them anyway, whatever will just do), clothes (not even knowing your size/taste –.+) for their friends (not necessarily me, don’t misunderstand, I do have presents I like). In a way, the art of giving has lost. Tremendously. Just take birthdays, Valentine’s and Christmas’s for example. Boyfriends give roses to their girlfriends on Valentine’s Day with the mindset, “What?! Every girls love roses what!”, perhaps not even knowing the girlfriend is allergic to roses. Christmas is no less the same. Just see the crazy shopping in the States. People all go out for last minute shopping for presents and just chuck whatever discounted items they could find and ta-dah! present shopping done.

Sometimes, I tend to hear people tell me that they do not know what to give me as a birthday present. They have no clue what to buy, they say. A tinge of sadness crossed my heart… I guessed that indicates the degree of our friendship. Like I said, it mirrors how close we are. Perhaps they don’t know me well enough or just don’t care enough to notice the details.

Soooooo anyways, out of boredom, I just thought I would create a birthday wishlist! I know right… this is so awkward and bimbotic of me (?) Self-centered even. But rest assured, I’m just doing this for fun. AND I mostly get the stuffs I want by myself anyways. SO, no pressure.

Sorry… is it that hard?

Oh wow. If there’s ever anyone who reads my blog, I apologise. I know I haven’t been the best blogger. I haven’t updated since uhhhh… last year. I know how it is because there are some blogs that I frequent daily which are not updated often and that usually pisses off the readers (that means me).

I was having my year end holidays and it was a fun-filled one. I had plenty of activities to do nearly every day so naturally I didn’t want to waste any time. Blogging requires too much time, at least for me. I figured I can do it when I’m back in Pahang studying.

So today is the first Monday I officially have my Degree classes. Lessons are just beginning, so not much is done yet. During one of the lessons, I heard something rather interesting. Long story short, it’s about a teacher apologising to a student regarding an activity which offended the student (but the activity was actually nothing, just take it as the student has wild imaginations or has gone bonkers). Apparently, it was regarded as something shameful or the sort.

Perhaps, that’s because in most people’s opinion, someone who is much older, with qualifications and has to apologize to a little kid for a mistake the teacher did not commit is something looked down upon.

I guess I could understand that… because for me or anyone else, I think no one likes to apologise for something that we did not do. However, I think that people who can apologise (no matter he or she is in the wrong or not) are people who are really brave and I have a high regard for them. But of course, it has to be a sincere apology. I despise hearing “Sorry LAH”.

To me, if you do something wrong and you have hurt someone, you feel bad and is willing to apologise sincerely because you knew how deep you would be hurt if you were in his/her position, you are brave. Most people nowadays can’t even own up to their own mistakes. Even if they do, sorry seems to be the hardest word for them to utter. It’s really sad because growing up, I feel that people who do not say their Ps’ and Qs’ and Sorrys’ whenever they should, are impolite and lack of parental guidance. In the end, your parents get the blame for failing to teach you better.

For the second scenario, people who apologise even if they did not do anything wrong or intentionally hurt anyone but is kind enough to put down his/her ego and say sorry… … well, that is admirable. It means you value the relationship you have with the other party more than your ego and even if it means saying sorry for something you did not do but can certainly make things and the situation better, you do not have qualms about saying sorry at all.

Never think of saying sorry as something dishonourable. If you are wrong, owning up to your mistakes shows that you are courageous enough to admit so. If you are not wrong, it shows that you love the other person too much and if Jesus is willing to be crucified on the cross for your sins, why is it so hard for you to say sorry to someone? Besides no matter what age you are at now, everyone is the same, everyone’s human and that means everyone makes mistakes. Who do you think of yourself as, so much that you are in a higher place above someone else’s? God is the Lord Almighty, sooooo much superior regardless either in terms of position, qualification or whatever than you are but has sent his son, Jesus so that He can the take blame and suffer for your sins. Jesus had to bear something that he obviously did not do. So I guess saying sorry won’t kill you.

(Having said that, this also serves as a reminder for me.)

Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I love to paint my nails! Few days ago, my sister and I bought some new nail polishes from Etude House in the Spring. It’s opened not long ago, if I’m not mistaken. They were having some sort of promotion for nail polishes but personally, I still think the nail polishes are a tad expensive for their brand. But I guess Korean nail polish should be somewhat better.

These are the colours that we bought and yeap, all the colours are glitter-ish. Actually we have all those colours already. I have the magic mint (light green, in case you don’t know what it means) colour and the lavender colour in opaque by TheFaceShop. I have pink by Diva and TheFaceShop I think. Actually I have lots of pink =S Because I never seem to be able to find the perfect shade of pink. I want something like baby pink, something soft but noticeable at the same time. I’ve managed to find it in Diva but I bought without realising that it’s not “fresh”, meaning it’s probably old stock. Manicure veterans will know what I meant (Rasa best). Haha! Actually the pink in the photo below is not really pink, it can passed as nude/beige/light pink. For the glittery teal, I have one similar (if you still remember) in Orly called Halley’s Commet ( from the cosmic range) but my sister decided to get this one from Etude House because she claimed the previous one was way too thick and dark for her liking.

First, I applied a coating of OPI’s nail strengthener. It can also served as a based coat. Then I applied 2 coats of Etude House’s pink. Next, I decided it’s way too plain and I wanted to spice things up a little. So I applied this super glitter-ish brink pink on 1 side of the nails’ surface.

And tadah, this is the result!

I know the lines are not very straight and it’s not very perfect but hey, I did it myself! I wasn’t sure it was nice at first but my sister took a look and complimented so it must be good enough. *smiles proudly*

For my toenails, I applied 2 coatings of magic mint and lavender alternately after the nail strengthener and then a coat of the Black Shatter. Fyi, magic mint and lavender are not the real name of the nail polishes but the real names of the colour. If you don’t know, please go Google and educate yourself =P

And this is the result! I’m wearing my new LV inspired sandals. However, the result’s kind of disappointing as I expected the magic mint and lavender to be more glitter-ish and noticeable but the speckle is too small to be seen. So it appeared rather opaque, which are like my previous ones from TheFaceShop. What a waste of money.

Of course, you must apply glosser as the topcoat to make everything looked so much shinier and pretty! It makes everything nicer… trust me, you need a bottle of this! :)

Hmmm… I wonder what colours should I go for for my next mani/pedi session! What do you think?

The “lazy” song

*Stares at last post’s date* I’m feeling very much guilty ehehe… I’m such a lazy blogger! Too much has happened since then and most of the time, I had to handle it personally so I pretty much wasn’t in the mood to blog. Besides, time was not on my side. I was having my finals which was like, the most important exam ever after 1 and a half years studying in Pahang, so it’s only natural that I need to *coughs* concentrate *coughs* on my studies.

I’m now officially on my year end holiday break which I’m very much grateful for. I must use my time wisely and try basking in family’s love as much as I can! I have so much to write about, thoughts to pen down but honestly, I don’t think words can do any justice to what I’ve been through. Maybe I can slowly find the right words to impart what was in my heart in time.

Besides, I think wordy posts are not what most readers of blogs seek for, isn’t it? They’d rather read a book =.= So I guess it’s about time I start talking about my Kedah trip which was during my Deepavali holidays. The bright side of being in West Malaysia is you get to have Deepavali holidays, which is about 1 week!

The bus ride from Kuala Lipis to Sungai Petani, Kedah is extremely long because I had to travel down to Kuala Lumpur first before embarking to Sungai Petani. However, it didn’t feel that long to me like I expected because something was on my mind. Anyway, I don’t remember all the exact details of what happened so I’ll just go with photos and captions.

This was taken when I was in the ferry on the way to Penang.

Sawat-dee kha! This was at the top floor of Village Mall, Sungai Petani. They sell a lot of Thai things there which are quite interesting but not exactly like what I had in mind about Bangkok’s marvellous shopping. Nevertheless, I got myself a floral headband!

We went to Alor Setar for 1 whole day to visit famous tourist destinations of Kedah. Alor Setar is after all the capital.

First stop: Wat Charok Padang, Sik. This place is not exactly at Alor Setar. It’s at Sik district, Kedah. It is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the first temple to be built from glass bottles, where the main building including the tower consist of nearly 30000 glass bottles.

We also went to… yeap, that’s right, a vineyard! I know right? Malaysia has a vineyard?! As crazy as it sounds, it’s true. It’s also located within Sik.

Among the successfully grown commercial grapes are Black Opal, Black Grape, White Malaga and Loose Pelite.

Nothing much to do there actually, we can’t pluck the grapes nor eat them so it’s basically just touring around the vineyard looking at the grapes and taking photos.

I’ve gotta say for a vineyard, the place looks quite good and well-maintained.

Then, we stopped at Beris Lake which is nearby to enjoy the view. It’s gorgeous and some kids were having a camp there.

It was sunny, hence, the umbrella! Loving this last photo… I shall end with the Chinese quote:

I haven’t blog about so many things for so long… so now I don’t know where to begin. I know I looked like I’ve been down in the dumps from the looks of my previous posts… Thus, you can never go wrong by taking a break at somewhere where there’s plenty of shopping, lots of good food and great company :)

Thanks to Tumblr and some good music, I’m feeling so inspired today. I’ve discovered some Chinese covers today… never knew people do covers for Chinese songs too! I know right… I’m so seperti katak di bawah tempurung. Please excuse me :P

Anyways, today when I saw this (refer to above), it made me realised people only want the good of everything… Don’t you think so? I wonder whether how many actually genuinely accept their family, friends or loved ones for the good and the bad. Most don’t, unfortunately… which is why the society’s so messed up. I can’t helped but feel let down by this sort of people, mainly friends, as most are only around when all’s well and fine… but when it’s the other way round, where are they? In fact, how many actually know you that well? How many are truly your real friends? The definition of friend today is so contorted. Random people on Facebook, you called them “Friends”. Course mates or classmates you never talk to, you called them “Friends”. There’s so many more examples… which I trust you don’t need a long elaboration on. I’m sure you all know what I meant.

No one’s perfect, not even your friends… That, everyone knows. A friend has his/her own good and bad, we’re all human (like I always said)… We still have so much to learn, so much to know. And we all made mistakes. Why can’t you accept that little weakness of your friend’s and just focus on being a good friend? You can be a friend by giving friendly advice (I’m aware it doesn’t work all the time, so if that happens, screw it and loose that friend HAHA) instead of going all *****y about it or worst… behind your so-called friend.

This reminded me of the story of a whiteboard with a black dot on it. The whiteboard is so white, ever innocent but with only one black dot, everyone’s focus is on it just because it’s blemished. Why are you looking at that one dot when all else is pure white? Think about it.

How to know whether your friend is really your friend? Well, I guess the old saying holds true, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

True friendship is a plant of slow growth and must undergo and withstand the shocks of adversity before it is entitled to the appellation.

Today’s a good day. So far… at least. Actually, these few days have been pretty good in spite of some glitches here and there. Anyways, I was introduced to a book Teohlogy by a friend who’s also a faithful (let’s hope, shall we?) reader of my blog *everybody wave HI :D* and I only read it up today because there’s this boring talk which I can’t be bothered with. And my! The book cracked me up more than a comedy or sitcom did. Comedies are never funny anyways. The book made me collapse in giggles in the hall which was quite embarrassing because I’m not usually that way. I’m usually pretty cool and composed *eleh* HAHAHA. So it’s good because it reminded me of the ways how I sometimes talk too. The book’s very Malaysian and Chinese-y (if I may add) with all the usual lahs and aiyohs and aiyahs and added with some comical hokkien profanities like niamah and too lan. In fact, I think I’m gonna finish reading it afterwards and put my usual drama series on hold. Can you believe it?! I, myself can’t either. Since when does that ever happens to Faustine?! Nevertheless, I’m glad to find a good read among all the bull crap New York bestsellers.

That’s not to say that the current drama series are not up to their standards. If you’ve realised, now is the hot season where lots of awesome hit series are released. The ones I've mentioned in a post quite some time ago are all out! I’ve been feasting on Ringer, Gossip Girl, 90210, The Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars (which isn’t new but I didn’t watch at the time released, so… ) and even movies like Abduction (the latest by Taylor Lautner *drools*) and Teen Spirit (ages ago). I’ve also tried watching a couple of lame ones like New Girl by Zooey Deschanel (figures *rolls eyes*) and Charmed (okay Charmed is not lame but the quality of the video is, so I gave up). Not to mention, I’ve also been keeping an eye on upcoming movie by watching trailers on You Tube. I found out some really cool movies worth catching in the cinemas. Remember I say I would comment on The Secret Circle’s performance? Well, to tell the truth, it’s actually quite bad… but nothing as awful as New Girl or any lames series by Fox or ABC. It’s nothing at all like the book where lots of the characters are supposed to be insanely handsome and beautiful. The actors and actresses chosen are a disappointment. Diana is supposed to have golden sunshine blonde hair and Adam is supposed to be quite hot, I think and he and Cassie, who’s the main character, are having this really special and indescribable inner connection or something but I don’t think the series did that any justice. They also don’t have the twin guys character in it and this guy, Nicholas or something is supposed to be a very cool and insanely fine-looking young man with streaks of rebelliousness but all that appears in the series is some sort of a jack-ass. Then again, they can’t do everything exactly like the book, else, audience or fans won’t have anything to anticipate and everything’s gonna be predictable yadi yada, so yeah I got it and I’m still gonna continue watching, regardless. Not sure if it receives the amount of audiences it desires though so I’m doubtful whether the producers will continue with a new season but it’s still too early to say. I know quite a few series were stopped or temporarily paused by CW Network like Melrose Place (which I thought was good), Hellcats (not half bad), Life Unexpected (Good riddance. The main character is now currently in The Secret Circle… … IKR? *rolls eyes*), The Beautiful Life (whatever happened?!), Privileged (thumbs up) and Fly Girls (ewwww).

Aaaahhh… it’s so great to finally have some ME-time. Honestly, my own personal time was ripped off from me and filled with these crappy, good-for-nothing, boring, #%^#@#%*(%*($ activities or these endless tedious assignments but all’s well now. ngek :D I shall enjoy precious moments like these before everyone goes around stressing and reminding me on the impending exams.

Aside from that, I’ve been cooking up some good plans and they’ve been going well so far and hopefully till the day it arrives. I really hate when things don’t go as planned. You know the feeling right? Okay, 'nuff said… I’m off to finish my book and indulge in more ME-moments. ngehehe! Good day y’all!

The truth. Can you handle it?

Once again, I woke up to reality. Of course, I’ve always been in reality but sometimes you’re blinded by your naivety that you sometimes don’t see what’s the world really like despite being in it.

I guessed most think I’ve always had it easy, that I could get things done with a snap of fingers, but truth is, no one knows the tears and sweat behind it. Things look good and people will probably go “Ahhh… typical of her.” as if these things come by any day. So once they know how things actually works, they probably couldn’t imagine in the first place the reasons behinds things I do and how hard it can be.

I’m always being the bad person to tell the ruthless facts to someone when everyone played nice but were secretly cursing at the back. That’s what people do nowadays, ain’t it? They would gave tons of advice of being nice, smile, don’t do this, don’t do that, be righteous and yes they do follow their own advices, they are nice, smiley and all righteous in the front but behind the back, they start saying reasons they don’t quite think so. No one has the nerve to make any constructive comments but praises and flattery are everywhere.

No one dares to put in the picture the perhaps unpleasant truth because no one likes to hear it and everyone wants to be saints and just say everything nice and sweet, which probably leads to lying in the faces, “It’s ok.”

I don’t know about you but I think this world has lead me to believe that they don’t like to hear the truth and they don’t have the guts to bear with it. Which is why lies existed in the first place. People asked for it. Even if the truth is indeed unkind and unsympathetic or sometimes insensitive, you’ve gotta thank the person who told you so because at least the person knows you deserve the truth when others lie just to get around you.

You’ve gotta accept it because you got to know what really happened instead of living in those beautiful lies. And you can make a change from it. Perhaps you knowing the truth is to shape you into a better person… for you to adjust and make amendments.

I know we’re all scared of the truth once in a while… we’re only human. But we should try seeing it this way… what if 1 day you eventually find out the truth after living in the lies for so long? That would totally throw you back even harder. And then you’ll realize your family aren’t your family, your boyfriends/girlfriends aren’t your boyfriends/girlfriends and your friends aren’t your friends, the people you know aren’t who you once knew them. That’s a scary thought, ain’t it?

I guessed you all probably think I’m like an old granny, rambling on non-stop like an old drag so I shall stop. Anyways, know for 1 thing, if I tell you something you might not like to hear, at least I love you enough to tell you the truth.

Fusion Grill

Fusion Grill Restaurant is located in the Brighton Square Jalan Song Kuching Sarawak. It has the concept of a culinary dining adventure that fuses Western style food products such as various selection of meat and sausages being grilled Korean style together with the classic Korean Samgyeopsal and beef kalbi on our infrared imported grill that is smokeless and splatter free. Sadly though, my friends and I have yet to try the Korean food there because it’s a tad pricey. Next time back in Kuching, I will definitely do.

Russian Chicken Chop: My friend’s order, which I recommend… I tried and it’s extremely delicious!

Mine: Aglio Olio. It was quite a big portion and it tasted okay.

Mini burger: My friend’s order… this is actually a kiddy meal but it turned out to be quite a big portion as well.

Carbonara: My friend’s order… I tried a lil’ and I thought not only did it tasted nothing like carbonara, it also tasted weird. Definitely not what I expected. For yummy carbonara, I suggest Kim Bay restaurant. But my friend commented that mine’s weird too. So you be the judge.

All have left for their studies already :’( Gathering will definitely be much harder to plan. Anyhow, I hope that doesn’t stop us and that our bonds remain strong! Looking forward to see y’all again! xoxo.

Matang Family Park

The very next day after I've landed in Kuching, I went to Matang Family Park with my sister and her friends. However, since I had my monthly thing, I thought of just going there to breathe some fresh air, dipping my feet in the cold water and just enjoy the nature for awhile. Before that, we had Dim Sum for breakfast at Causeway Bay. I love liu shar bao!

I love my sister's Canon camera... It captures everything so well eventhough it's not a DSLR. Anyways, it's smaller and way more convenient.

The place's not really nice though... the river is small and mostly filled with rocks. You can't really swim there. Or maybe I didn't explore the whole place. You can do family or friends barbeque there though. There's a place for you to do that.

Though we didn't do much of "swimming" due to you-know-what but it was a good time bonding with the sister and having some time off from the hustle-bustle of the city.

The trip ended with a plate of midin, my favourite vegetable with rice in some coffee shop at Bormill. I think you can only get this in Sarawak ;)

If you catch up with the news, you’ll know the world is gradually becoming sicker… and it’s turning worse day by day. Everyday, something terrifying is happening somewhere and it doesn’t stop. I really hate seeing my blog all full of wordy and lengthy posts going on and on about the world’s stupidity and how horrigible life is but I guess that’s how everything goes about, right? I feel so sick and fed up sometimes that I… I don’t know what I’ll do.

I don’t know whether it’s that I think too much or that’s how evil everything works or whether it’s the people who deservedly made me think such ways of them because they are really that awful or whether I’m the one misjudging people or…

I don’t know what to think.

Sometimes, I really don’t get it.

Are questions just something you ask out of curiousity or out of something you really cared about? Or are you just waiting to see a joke.

Why is everything such a trouble? Even the simplest things have turn complicated.

Why? Humans doings.

A smile.

A song.

A question.

An act of kindness.

Friendship.

Love.

Education.

Religion.

Heck, even a blog.

Can you tell me one thing, ONE thing which is simple?

Even the most pumped up and positive ones of us find ourselves broken and weary at some point in our life. It isn't so hard to believe and follow Jesus when we are soaring on the wings of eagles or running and not getting weary in our walk with God. Often the toughest time to keep our faith vibrant is when we are trying to keep putting one foot in front of the other while not fainting. In those moments of absolute powerlessness, weakness, and brokenness the Lord is often most real, most powerful, and most present.

We give thanks and praise God when things are going well and smooth but what about troubled times? Do we blame it on God? Does our faith weaken during such times? Do we lost our believe? Do we lost hope? Do we give up?

No.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
- Proverbs 3:5

I, like every time I tried to do, will strive through this. I’ll live.

Let us be reminded:

Looking at all the angles

Awful things have happened this week and there’s nothing can be done to undo it, nor is there anything that can better it. There’s also no use crying, grumbling, “cursing” because that’s the way things work in the world. Sometimes, things don’t go our way. Wait… make it most of the times. What can be done is to accept, do the next best thing and move on.

People always like to say others had a better life than theirs… but really, how would we know? Someone may be seen living a good life but not until we walk in his or her shoes, do we really know for sure. How can we (humans) so easily said someone has it better? Looks are always deceiving. The grass is not necessarily greener on the other side. When we reach to the other side, we may think somewhere else is greener and it goes on and on.

Just take for example, a celebrity’s job. Most would say superstars have it all going for them. They make big bucks in a blink of an eye. However, if you really look into it, some go for hours and hours of training each day. Some even have to act in the middle of the night. Some even fall or burn to death doing stunts. Some suffers bulimia, anorexic, depression, stress and so on. Some can’t even see their family often due to the workload. Some suffers abuse from inside the industry but can never publicly report to the police or help due to maintaining their “positive” publicity. Some can never make true friends. Some could not even have a love life or they will risked their love’s lives. *Think Andy Lau* Some could never experience a true vacation like what normal humans get to have. Some could not do normal things without being judged and criticized by the public. So now… do you still think celebrities have an easy life? I guessed not.

Same goes to the rubbish collector. You look down on them, you wrinkled your noses when they collect rubbish from your house. But really, think about it… Would you do their job for even a day? Would you be able to stand it? Could you last? No one wants to do that job but they are doing it. Shouldn’t you be most thankful for them? I know I am.

That’s why regardless of what jobs people have, as long as it is right and for the better of mankind, you should respect it. Same goes to people’s lives. You wouldn’t truly understand the situation of someone’s life till you walk in their shoes. Like a quote I really loved, “You know my name, not my story.”

Allow me to share with you an excerpt from a meaningful article by Mr. Soo Ewe Jin, a respectable man whom I nearly always share the same thoughts with:

"And what about the people who collect our trash? Or clean the sewers? Or collect the toll? Or work in our homes as domestic helpers? Or drive us from point A to point B?
If you do not think that their jobs are important, imagine how our life would be turned upside down should they all not show up for work at the same time.
We see many people in low-paying jobs even in the midst of a very developed urban environment. These are the people who buy petrol, rice and other essential items at the same price as the richest people they have to serve.
There is little flexibility in their lives, and they certainly face more physical and health hazards on a daily basis than we do.
We can talk about iPad and smart phones as though they are already essential rather than luxury items, but I believe for a fair proportion of our working population, these items will be out of reach for a long time to come.
An iPad certainly costs more than the combined monthly pay of two security guards. And I wonder, is our job more important than theirs?

My holidays were long passed and I’m back in campus, going into my 3rd semester. I’ve been off from blogging because frankly, there’s not much to say. I’m not sure whether that’s a good or bad thing.

I’ve been watching Vampire Diaries lately. I’ve actually watch around the first 10 plus episodes of Season 1 and stopped but has now re-watched it all from the start.

Last time I stopped because I got tired of all the vampire rage that started off from Twilight. However since I had nothing better to do and CW Network always produce reputable and quality shows, I was like why not give it another shot?

I must say they managed to keep things pretty interesting, what with twists and turns in the plot. Season 3 is expected to be aired on September 15 this year. There is another series coming up on the same date as well, which is the Secret Circle, also written by LJ Smith. If I’m not mistaken, I’ve read one of the books before and I quite like it, perhaps more than Vampire Diaries. But I won’t comment too early that it’s going to be better because what’s on tv and what’s on books are completely two different things. I’ve watched the sneak peak preview and I see there are lot of changes and differences which kind of spoiled the image I had when I read the book. Besides, the selection of cast looks pretty disappointing. What do you think?

Along with that, CW Network are also producing two other new shows, which are Ringer (September 13) and Hart of Dixie (September 26).

Ringer is more towards the thriller and drama genre. It’s about the twin sisters, Bridget and Siobhan (Gellar) who have been at odds and find that their lives are both unravelling at the same rate. Bridget is on the run from the mob and in order to survive she takes over Siobhan's life after she mysteriously disappears. She soon discovers her estranged sister's life isn't as mundane as she had once thought.

Hart of Dixie would probably appeal more to those interested in medical dramas. Synopsis:

Fast-talking New Yorker and brand new doctor Zoe Hart has it all figured out - after graduating top of her class from medical school, she'll follow in her father's footsteps and become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. But when her dreams fall apart, Zoe decides to accept an offer from a stranger, Dr. Harley Wilkes, to work with him at his small practice in Bluebell, Alabama. Zoe arrives in this small Gulf Coast town only to find that Harley has died and left his half of the medical practice to her in his will. She quickly finds that Southern hospitality isn't always so hospitable - the other doctor in town, Brick Breeland, is less than pleased to be sharing the practice with this young outsider, and his daughter, Lemon, is a Southern belle whose sweet disposition turns sour when she meets Zoe. When the West meets the East.

Sorry for the lack of updates everyone. I just want to make the most of my short holidays... laze around doing nothing, catch up on my favourite TV series, read a good book, eat good food and yeah, you get the idea.

My friends from West Malaysia travelled here last week... this was the first time they were in Kuching. We met up in the Spring mall and I brought them around. We went to tried bubble milk tea aka PEARL milk tea since they haven't tried it before yet but I gotta say the quality has dropped. The outlet in the Spring used to be my favourite and I'd go there all the time... but the one I had last week was mostly all ice and the pearls were not really fresh. It's nothing compared to Chatime. I'm gonna try Gong Cha in KL next time. I heard it's comparable to Chatime!

The Spring had lovely Gawai Celebrations decoration so we snapped a few photos together.

Luckily the bridge could hold all of us!

After that, I brought them to try Dim Sum at Kim Bay restaurant. They were sort of hesitant at first but they were more convinced when they saw the Halal sign. Anyways, we had a great time feasting!

I love ???!Too bad we left it too long, it already sorta dried up. remember to eat it while it's hot!

Hopefully, I'll managed to travel around West Malaysia too. any nice places to suggest? :)

Chatime (Read: Cha- Time) Bubble Tea

Guess where I went on Tuesday?

Met and catch up with 2 friends over lunch at Room Eighteen in Fahrenheit88 and then went over to Pavilion.

After walking around, we went over to my favourite bubble tea shop: Chatime! I only found out on that day it was pronounced as Cha (Read it the Mandarin way) – Time and not Chatime (as in, Chat Time). I’m now pretty convinced it’s pronounced as Cha-Time (which means Tea Time) because I frankly, I don’t think Taiwanese would pronounced it as Chat Time, nor would they gave it that name. Still, it may not be pronounced that way because there’s no one to confirm with but really, who cares? It’s the drink that matters! :P

I ordered Japanese Matcha Tea Latte instead of the usual Matcha Red Bean Smoothie. It tasted nice all the same.

I love Chatime because clearly they are better quality and their amount of pearls is a lot compared to other commercial bubble tea shops.

I heard from my friend that the queue at Sunway Pyramid is long and she usually buy an hour before *Gasps* Thank goodness, the outlet at Pavilion never made me wait that long or else I would have given up buying their drinks.

So, I’ve been catching up with the movies showing in the cinemas lately…

I watched:

Fast and Furious 5

I am pleased to say the series has redeemed itself. For anyone who likes muscle cars, beautiful women and heist films; "Fast and Furious 5" delivers plenty of pulse-pounding moments. Top it up with everyone’s favourite actors: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, this is definitely a must-watch.

Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

If you love Jack Sparrow enough to go through two hours of repetitive sword fight and similar continuous background score, this is the movie for you. The best scene in the movie is the one with the mermaids. It's the highlight of the movie.

Water for Elephants

This story is based on the 2007 New York Times best-selling novel by Sara Gruen. It serves as a decent flick that tells a likable and moving story. However, be aware that it’s 2 hours long and the storyline can be quite predictable.

A treat for those who enjoy their shock-jumps but nevertheless, it still falls short compared to Orphan.

Thor

I enjoyed the breathtaking landscape and magical electricity of Asgard. just standing next to the 6-foot plus Chris Hemworth, Natalie Portman looks pale in comparison and establishes that she's clearly not the highlight of the movie. Intelligent comic-book popcorn epics are rare and this one is definitely a cut above the usual fare.

Asian skin

I saw an article in MSN Life & Style about “Things you didn’t know about Asian skin”. I thought it’s gonna tell me something positive or advantageous that we never know off. Who knows it all turns out to be negative and it seems that Asians have it worse.

1. Asian skin has a darker skin tone, hence more protection against the sun: “Your quick-tanning skin gives you automatic SPF-4 sun protection, somewhat lowering your skin-cancer risk”- Nordenburg (Discovery Fit & Health). Although true that the darker your skin tone, the more melanin pigments that protect your skin against damaging high temperatures, you would still require extra prevention.

2. Asian skin is acne-prone: This usually happens around the nose and cheek area where the pores are larger. The weather in most Asian countries is hot and humid or warm thus Asians are more prone to acne. Their skin turns oily therefore clogging the pores and producing acne. Asians have larger pores when compared to others hence they are more often prone to skin irritations and acne.

3. Asian skin is wrinkles easily: Our sunny weather all year round exposes us to harsh UV rays every day of the year. Extended exposure to the sun affects our skin’s collagen and elasticity which ultimately results in premature-ageing.

4. Asian skin is easily prone to pigmentation: Because Asian skin has more melanin (tans more easily), it also can get discoloured more easily than Caucasian skin.

5. Asian skin scars easily: “Asian skin often has a thinner stratum corneum (outermost layer of skin) than other ethnicities, which could cause greater sensitivity”- Dr. Daniel B. Yarosh in his book, The New Science of Perfect Skin.

How sad is that? There’s nothing good at all about Asian skin. It would be nice if we have a thing or two better.

Retro Night

Heylooo everyone! I’ve been kind of busy lately. Anyways, I’m here to update on my class’s dinner last Thursday night. We had our dinner at Centrepoint Hotel, with the theme Retro Night. At first, I was sort of reluctant to dress up since I don’t have many clothes there, seeing it was a small town, so my wardrobe are all mostly my formal wear for classes or t-shirts and track pants for sports and extra curricular activities. Anyhow, I managed to pull together a retro outfit in the end. *claps hands* wei, show some support la…

The food was just okay, nothing to rave about. Mostly spicy though, which some did not like, but it was fine by me.

Nerovivo

After the unsatisfying meal at Angus Steak House, my sister and I headed over to Nerovivo situated at Jalan Ceylon to meet up with friends over a late meal. This trendy inner-city bungalow boasts authentic Italian dishes, many of which are prepared in an open-air pizza oven. Guests can dine inside with air conditioning, alfresco with views of Menara KL or enjoy an aperitif at the bar.

The centre of attraction must be the ocean of wine bottles neatly displayed on racks from floor to ceiling. Nero Vivo imports its own wines, among them some labels not available anywhere else in Malaysia. Currently, the restaurant boasts about 12,000 bottles and some 150 labels, sourced from various regions all over Italy.

Garlic bread with olive oil... I loved this so much because they went well together and the bread was so soft and delicious.

Vongole Spaghetti is my sister’s favourite. It’s not really my cup of tea but it’s considered delightful.

We ordered the Chef Platter for desserts since we’ll be sharing among friends.

Chocolate lava cake with strawberry topping… too bad we didn’t finish it as were far too full !

Cakes and tarts which I’ve been craving so long since I haven’t ate one in ages!

Ginger, raspberry and yoghurt ice cream! My sister and friend loves the ginger ice cream probably because it’s something quite new and uncommon.

On the whole, I’m very satisfied with Nerovivo because not only do they serve high quality food, the service is also impeccable. Nerovivo champions unpretentious fine dining in vibrant surroundings.

Duck meat. I’m not a big fan of duck because I think sometimes they tasted disgusting… what about you?

Prawns which tasted very dry. I prefer gravy-ish cooked prawns.

My sister lost her headband here but they claimed they don’t know anything about it. It was a new one, just bought from Taiwan. Perhaps a staff took it? Or some random stranger? Sighs. I quite love the headband too. What a pity.

This is not going to be a hee hee haa haa, picture-filled post. Yes, I’m back to complain! Do you know what? Your brain is like a box. Yes, a box! A BIG SQUARE BOX. Why? Because you only listen to your people (regardless of who they are), you only live by your own world! Yes, everything in your own world seems perfect but guess what? The world is not! You never adapt, you never learn, you never accept, you just go by your own set of rules. You never give a chance. This is why y’all are constantly being criticized.

Judging something just because someone said so. Yes, listening to people’s opinions is good and sometimes we can follow, but not without reasons! Or even proper and valid reasons. You can’t say something is nice because, well… it is nice. There has to be a reason why it is nice. Unless it’s something too hard to explain like, love, but let’s not even go there. And vice versa, you can’t say something is bad just because it’s bad. There ought to be reasons as to why it is so. If it’s prejudiced, it’s irrelevant! That’s because it’s having a belief or attitude formed beforehand! And have you never wonder that if you’re doing that, how is it for the people on the other side… don’t they have the same thoughts just like you did, on your things too? Think about it.

Also, just because I don’t go all extreme about it usually, it does not mean you can step on our heads! Letting things go once or twice is just us being nice, not wanting to evoke problems. But saying something like this to us in return? You disgraced yourself and your “family”! Discussion? Please, don’t mask your inner wolf with an innocent sheep mask. You ought to be ashamed! Fully ashamed! Do you want us to make a comeback too? It can be easily done as there are so many things to say! Ones that elicit wrath and detestation too. But no, we are not going to stoop so low like you too. However, try it 1 more time, and I don’t effin’ care it’s high or low, I’ll pull you down hard.

To think I speak for us, and yet you go and talk behind my back. I know everyone talks behind our backs all the time, but to me, it’s only acceptable if someone did a bad thing. But if I effin’ did a good thing and is on your side, and you still did that, well FYL. It’s really, really bad if you get on my wrong side… but I guessed that’s a little too late to tell, because you’re in my black list already. You have better watch your back.

Nail lacquer

I just painted my feet’s nails a shade of red not long ago but last weekend I decided to change again… Why? Because my sister bought a lot of nail lacquers in the shades which I picked, so I decided to give them all a try! Wheeee!!! *Bimbo moment*

First off, the most popular and sought after OPI Serena Glam Slam! collection which includes a shatter and the other, a normal nail lacquer. The one I convinced my sister to buy is Simply Smash-ing! and the black shatter. I chose that because I think it’s the most outstanding and uncommon colour.

OPI, the world’s leading professional nail care company, partners with tennis superstar, Serena Williams, to launch the Glam Slam collection. Timed in conjunction with the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open, the Glam Slam collection will introduce two new Nail Lacquers at the start of each tournament.

So how does the Shatter works? Once you applied over completely dried nail lacquer, the Shatter begins to crackle, leaving behind a leopard print-style pattern on each nail.

The product is like this:

I personally love it because I think it’s very easy to apply and yet you achieved something nail-art-like. Simply Smash-ing is actually a glossy green nail lacquer but somehow it appeared yellow and gold-ish like when I applied it. I guess it’s because I didn’t apply as many coats… usually, a minimum of two coats are needed.

We also bought the Shatter in Silver colour because we decided that we can mix it with the pastel colours I got back home.

Besides that, we bought another colour from Orly’s range.

Guess what is this called? It’s called Halley’s commet and it’s from the Cosmic range. I love anything Cosmic! It’s so beautiful… and sparkly :) Orly’s range are also trustable and they are fast drying, long lasting and high gloss nail lacquer.

My sister bought this shade too because apparently she wanted a colour similar to her old one… I have yet to try this.

And after applying all those nail lacquer on your nails, you can apply a coat of glosser from the Orly range to make it well, glossy! Seriously, it makes everything looks even better. It’s a super high-shine topcoat. It gives nail lasting protection and a super slick shine. It’s great for nail art and vibrant colours.

All the above nail lacquer are very good in quality and they are all made in US, though it is recommended that you apply a few coats to make it last longer as girls who are sorta “rough” like me tends to get my hand’s fingernails’ varnish chipped off easily.

It’s Snowflake! I’m sure most would have heard of it before as it’s such a popular dessert among Malaysians. There are 5 branches, one in Subang, one in Pavilion, one in Kota Damansara, one in Kuchai and the newly-opened one in Sungei Wang. Angus Steak House

I’m going to do a short review on Angus Charcoal Steak House that I went to last Friday to have my dinner.

This was some *inserts fancy name* soup and the waitress serving said it was beef soup… I know right… wtf is the beef?!

Ordered spaghetti in tuscobi sauce or something like that and it was nothing out of the ordinary. I personally thought the one I had in KLCC was much better.

Overall, not only is the food pricey, the waiter and waitresses sucks and the food was considered poor for such a high-end restaurant. We asked for explanation about certain food items in the menu and they failed to deliver. They were also not convincing enough and did not know how to make recommendations when requested. Seriously, employing such people? I don’t think I’m going back anytime soon.

I had a long weekend last week seeing that Monday was a holiday and I spent it in KL. I’m a bit lazy to go into details so this will mainly be a photo post with some captions here and there.

I’m sooooooooooooo lazy to blog about the English Language Camp that I attended last week. Why? The reason’s really plain. I’m worn out. I just can’t get myself to do anything productive. I yearn for the days where I just laze around, doing nothing, like a lazy cat. This month is really the most hectic month. There’s piles of assignments, MUET exams, homework, preparation for ELC, ELC itself, preparation for the drama, Macbeth and acting out Macbeth itself. Gosh, it’s going to be a long ride. Or is it me who turned lazy and slow?

It’s also when you see people’s true colours surfaced. Afterall, you can only find out your true friends during hard times, yes? Happy times, friends are everywhere.

I found out people whom I quite fond of are not necessarily supportive… so I guess I’m just being foolish in hoping and believing that loyalty and sincerity still exists. People are just good at plastering fake smiles and making fancy speeches. Those are what people nowadays considered as good and dedicated people, or even leaders… but the thing is, I see what you don’t see. For if you are what you actually are, you’d be doing it silently. Trying to make it seems as though you have sacrificed a lot when actually you’re doing something that you ought to be ashamed of. Just making appearances and looking good, aye? I’m not fooled.

Besides, all those crap about having no differences, crossing barriers is well… just bull. And don’t say I’ve never tried. I have. For a loooong time. But I guess it’s pretty much back to square one. Hah! People still stick in their comfort zones… just ask yourself, to what extend, have you actually practise solidarity?

Enough about the dark rants.

I think my memorising skills is waning fast… From now on, I’ll try to work hard on it and possibly improve (highly unlikely though, oopps) in learning by heart. Most say it’s unhealthy though but why are there so many still practising it? Hmm. I mean how do you come about remembering verses and all the other million things on Earth? Through understanding, I know. But is that just a nice way of putting it?

Anyways, this tough month will be over soon. There’s only about 2 weeks left and I can’t wait. I shall surrender to God and the light will appear at the end of this dark tunnel.

Finally, I managed to go down to KL last weekend… Like, FINALLY! :D

On Friday night, as I was on my way to Pavilion, a girl handed me this:

Apparently, there’s 10% discount if you spend more than RM30 in the restaurant. The restaurant I’m talking about is Ko Hyang Restaurant. It’s a korean restaurant (duh!) situated at Fahrenheit88. Since my sister and I didn’t know where to have our dinner, I suggested to her that we ought to try out this place, so we made our way there before heading to our movie, Just Go With It, feat. Jennifer Aniston.

Our side dishes… Fortunately, these are some of my favourites! One thing I must mention about this restaurant, the waiter and waitresses there were very friendly and helpful. Their service was brilliant. I just love it when shops or restaurants have such well-mannered staffs… it makes you feel good and comfortable, you’ll feel like going back just to show them support :)

My sister ordered this: Kimchi soup set meal. However, the Kimchi soup tasted different from all the kimchi soups I’ve eaten before. Usually the taste would be spicy and sour right? This one is a little bit on the sweet side though. Weird? Or maybe not? That’s for you to decide. But my sister wasn’t very pleased with it.

Nevertheless, eating Korean food makes me feel happy… hopefully, I’ll find someone like-minded one day and we’ll enjoy our meal blissfully :)

This is what I ordered: Dolsot Bibim Bap. I actually wanted to order Bibim Bap but the waitress mentioned that that one is the cold one, so I decided to go with the hot pot one as I prefer my meals to be served hot. This is one of the main reasons why I don’t like Japanese cuisine, which is always served cold. Anyways, this Dolsot Bibim Bap tasted good, like the usual ones. It amazes me how they managed to cook the egg in that proper nice round shape though. Very cool !

Another week has passed and now it’s already April ! I didn’t go down to KL last weekend due to the MUET workshop that came up on Saturday. Disappointed because plans have been made but I guessed that’s life. The only plan that you can plan is that your plan will change. True, no?

My first time trying out nasi lemak sold by the warden in the hostel, not as nice as I expected… so I’ll just stick to fried rice.

The healthy meal over the weekend. How ironic though because I eat very unhealthily over here every single day. I snacked like crazy. Biscuits and keropok are the main culprits. Blame it on the stress I’ve been facing lately! What with all the tons of work to do! *Sigh*

It’s at this cafe and it serves set meals, which a set consists of white rice, vegetables, meat, soup and cordial drink for only RM 3.50. Sounds reasonable, no? :)

I love Emma Roberts. I think she’s absolutely gorgeous with flawless skin and everything. Her sense of fashion is also brilliant,very simple and chic. She has good taste in shoes too… I love all her heels! I wish I can be as pretty as her. Sadly, there’s not much news of her nowadays… I look forward to seeing her in more movies. I hope she still remains the person as she is today and not turn out to be like what Taylor Momsem has become.

Very simple and chic. The platform heels are a killer!

I am currently in love with the colour, magenta. I wanted to buy a magenta sweater not long ago but in the end, I didn’t, which I’m regretting now! I think it looks really good and it really stands out even if you’re wearing a boring colour like grey.

Very biker chick look but at the same time, the turquoise coloured heels toned it down nicely. I wish I can wear high heels like this! I know platform heels are so much easier to wear but somehow, I just can’t pull it off. My feet tend to come out from the heels when I walk, like it’s too loose or something but actually I discovered a lot of people who wear heels, their heels are a bit loose and their feet do come off easily but they still managed to walk in it… I really wonder why! Can anyone answer me that question? Because I know it’s not really possible to buy a tight one as heels really kills one’s feet after walking for sometime, or even the correct size as the heels will clamp your feet. So most people would prefer to buy a size that’s a bit loose but not too much… but how do y’all walk in it? Heels are slanting and your feet tend to slide to the front! So I’m really puzzled! Please tell me your secret in walking in those heels ;)

I love how she pulled all her hair to the back with the headband because that’s what I normally do at home, it’s really comfy! Not many Asians would do that though… they usually cover half their face with fringe =.= I love how she paired the checkered shirt with a jacket. I never thought of that before!

Small town = Lower expenses? NO !

I sort of regretted that I did not go to KL yesterday due to lots of reasons but thankfully, today I had a great day :) So, in the end, I guessed it wasn’t too bad after all.

I went to town today with four of my friends at around 9 something in the morning. The above photo shows Aktif supermarket, where most people here usually shop and buy their necessities. We went to Old Town to have our brunch. I ordered Mix Vegetable rice aka Zhap Fan which costs RM6 ! Soooooooo expensive at a place like Kuala Lipis, furthermore, it’s only in a coffee shop. And yet people say our daily expenses at such a small place is very low. Total bullshit. *Please excuse my language :P* Even our transportation fare to the town is RM12, regardless how many persons and whether it’s taxi or van, it’s still the same price. A lot of our necessities are also much more expensive than the ones in big towns or big areas like Kuala Lumpur. Places like KL or other big towns have much more variety, choices, promotions and offers so, prices are way more reasonable! This is totally unfair to us. Not only are our things more expensive, we have lesser choices too! We just need to make do with whatever that’s available. Everyone should stop stereotyping that small towns means lower or smaller expenses, because that’s absolutely not the truth, at least clearly not the case in Kuala Lipis!

I feel so happy looking at so many greens in my meal… hehe, finally some healthy eating. Feels like home! :)

We bought lots of things and managed to snag some good buys as we walked through the shops in the Old Town area. Some of the shops offer cheaper prices and better quality products! Their shopkeepers are also friendlier and very nice to us. Overall, we felt satisfied with what we bought today :) I had a fun time! Looking forward to more weekends like this…

My short mid-sem break has ended and I'm now back in college. Here's what I did on the last few days of my holidays.

I went out for lunch with these two girls, or should I say, twins(?), since they look so alike haha... at Jalan Song's 食多福. I actually had my diarrhoea and was vomitting a day before this, so I sort of hesitated on joining them or not. Alas, I joined them because I haven't see them for ages. I ordered the fried rice which was not tasty at all. I doubt I'll ever return to that place again. The food was just average, nothing special. Upon reaching home, my knees started to feel wobbly and was aching, possibly due to the aftermath of diarrhoea. I felt so hopeless that time, so I kept applying Minyak Kapak to ease the pain.

I went out for dinner with these 3 for dinner at Country's Court at 3rd mile. At first I thought Country Court was Courtyard, the one somewhere opposite Chonglin Park... but turned out I was wrong! Damn. I wanted to go to that places ages ago. Anyhow, Country's Court wasn't half bad.

Ordered cangkung manis since it was on offer, I think it's around RM4 per plate? Cheap right?

Butter chicken. This was the sweet type of butter chicken, I preferred the spicy + salty type though, if you get what I mean. Yes, even butter chicken/prawn has the sweet buttery or salty buttery type.

This Midin/Bilin Belacan was quite a big portion but too bad, they did not put enough belacan, so the taste didn't quite come out. Probably suitable for people who likes less spicy food.

My holidays ended rather badly though, with me waking up at 3 something in the morning, going to the toilet numerous times, puked and pooped like nobody's business. It continued all day, which is amazing, because I have no idea there's so many things to puke, what with so many times puking already, you'd think my stomach is already emptier than empty. Sigh, so now I have to suffer and take serious precautions in consuming food now. Less oily, less spicy, no cold drinks, etc... etc... you get the idea. I feel so miserable :( I'm Faustine! I love spicy + salty food and I hate anything tasteless! And I love cold drinks, that make me chill, especially on a hot day... can't believe this is happening to me. Oh wells, guessed I have a diet to stick to. For the time being anyways, ehehe...

Today, I went to watch Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son at MBO. Pretty funny and passable for a comedy. I want to watch Burlesque but it's not showing in the cinemas anymore. Anyone has a CD or a downloaded version?

I bought 6 Big Apple Donuts to eat... it's been so long since I last ate a donut. I'm also currently craving for ma lak wanton, cakes, carbonara or aglio olio spaghetti and any good Chinese food. Anyone wanna join me for a meal? :)

I wanted the strawberry flavour that's pink in colour but there wasn't any. What a bummer!

There were lots of students at the Spring because it's also their school holidays. No eye candy though :(

The photographs are not very clear because I'm just using a lousy digital camera and somehow, it works very badly indoors but quite the opposite for outdoors. Plus, Big Apple donuts lighting is very dark. Oh wells. I feel like getting a new digital camera but I think it's just temporary wants, if you get what I mean. Self control, Faustine. Self control.

Dim Sum buffet at Toh Yuen restaurant

I went to Toh Yuen restaurant at Hilton for the Dim Sum buffet with my friend, Rina on Sunday. We both wanted to go there after seeing bloggers blogging about it and we both love and are craving for some Dim Sum!

The ambience was nice and it felt as if I stepped into Mandarin Oriental's restaurant. a sense of déjà vu? I went to Mandarin Oriental's Chinese restaurant for Dim Sum with my sister last time too when I was in KL. Both places look quite alike. I'm serious!

We went to watch Beastly after that, which turned out to be really boringggg... what a disappointment!

I’m done with my mock exams already, so I’ll be having my 1 week mid-semester break now. I have 3 assignments though but for now, I just want to think happy thoughts and feel excited about my holidays. On a side note, I discovered who Jason Chen is today. It was purely incidental because I was on my earphones and someone’s blog had his cover as the background music. I was just about to get pissed off but the song melted my heart. In case you don’t know me, I don’t like songs auto-playing when I am viewing websites. So today, I’m going to share with you this amazing cover of Love the Way You Lie Part 2 by Jason Chen which is sort of ironic because I don’t really fancy watching cover music videos (so it must be really good then, heh.) Anyways, I went on listening to other covers of his but none were as nice as Love the Way You Lie Part 2. It’s really funny how some people are so good at criticizing, or apparently, as they called it, “commenting” others but when it comes to them receiving it, they couldn’t take it with an open heart. It makes you go, “eh? Whatever happened?” You thought such people are supposedly open-minded since they are so free to say whatever they want and they go like this. What a joke. Even more funny is they say what they want, think what they want and that’s it. CLOSED. Not open to anything other than that. My ideas will always be the most correct-EST (no such word, but just you know, just to emphasis and let you know an idea how this sort of people can be). Even more funny is, people like this love to points out that someone is wrong but yet cannot give out the correct answer, in which, it makes me go “Huh? Did I miss something here?” I’d countless encounters like that but I chose to keep quiet. Perhaps it’s time I present to you a few of my experiences. Do share if you came across the same situation. We can have a good laugh together.

Scenario 1

Person A: In my view, your ABC is wrong. It just doesn’t sound right. So it’s wrong.

My response: Ok, accepted (Since everyone have different opinions, so…) So person A, can you tell me what’s the correct one?

Person B: I don’t know but yours is definitely wrong.

Hahaha… so what do you think of the above? Just think about it again, you have no idea what is right and yet you say someone else is wrong. Don’t tell me you can’t see what’s going on here. Go on, have a great laugh. I had a great one myself.

Scenario 2

Subjective Question

Person A: This is wrong because I think it’s like this, this, this…

My response: Ok but to me, it’s like this, this, this…

Whoa. WRONG. Strong word there. So correct me if I’m wrong, I thought such questions have no right or wrong. Sure, you can have disagreements, you can don’t agree but it’s not up to you whether it’s right or wrong, unless ummm… maybe, you’re God. I never go around saying that yours is wrong either even though I may not see it the way you do but I just listen, think and accept. So how come you can’t do the same?

Scenario 3

Person A who started the whole thing.

In the end,

Person A: Chill lah.

My response: *thoughts* Eh? I thought we were all in a middle of an interesting discussion/argument here. Why suddenly stop? Can’t take it anymore?

Many people has this misconception that it is something negative when actually it is something healthy. Don’t just respond like that when you can’t win the argument. It makes you look like a lousy sport and a loser, to be honest. There’s no need to look at things so heavily. Give yourself a little challenge. Besides, what’s more hilarious is the person started everything in the first place but failed to continue! I understand some people can’t take it, we’re humans after all, we all have emotions. There’s nothing to be ashamed off. But if it is so, you really shouldn’t have started it in the first place then, don’t you think so? If you want to start it, then continue on. Why, you asked? Because it shows that if you started it, it means that you want to continue and you have this interest of arguing more. Otherwise, STFU.

This just goes to show that some speak without thinking. You’re all about “YES I’M CORRECT. YOU’RE WRONG. WOOHOO!” and loves to talk big but failed to present something concrete to prove whatever that you just talk about. In addition, it shows that you’re a narrow-minded person. Don’t be so fast in judging right or wrong when you haven’t weigh both sides.

So? Lesson of the day: Talk wisely.

If you’re feeling offended after reading this post, then sorry I guessed what I just talk about can’t get through to you. You’re still in the mindset of “You’re wrong! I’m actually like this __ ” Accept with an open heart, ponder about it, make changes, and come out a wiser person :) The world will be a better place.

TESLians day trip to Dusun Lazim

I had been really busy last week so I didn’t update as frequently. Guess the number of visitor is going down, down, downnn… but never mind, I’m here to update about my class trip on last Saturday. We went to Dusun Lazim, Janda Baik which is situated at Bentong, about 2 hours away from Kuala Lipis.

However, we got lost and ended up being 1 and a half hour late. It was deep inside and it took a while to find the place. Finally, we arrived…

We sort of ran out of time since we arrived late, thus, without much ado, we started our activities. Activity number 1 was to collect any 5 natural things around us and to create a story about them and try to be as creative as possible. I didn’t take part because I was one of the committee members. Nevertheless, I did not waste my time around but went around snapping photos instead. I figured it might come in handy sometime later.

The boys discovered this “lizard” and were making a fuss over it.

While we were having our activities, some members were selected to cook and prepare the food first.

After the activity, some of us decided to take a walk to the nearby river to check it out. Of course, we just had to take photos wherever we went.

Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering… those orange & black t-shirt is our newly-made class t-shirts! I think we got it a day before the trip if I’m not mistaken, which was very fortunate, so that we could wear it during our day trip to Dusun Lazim.

Before we knew it, it was lunch time already! Our stomach was growling like crazy!

One thing I was very satisfied about this trip was the food. It was really delicious unlike what I expected from trips or camps. This was by far the best.

All of us enjoyed our appetizing and mouth-watering meal.

After that, we had a water activity which made most of us roared in laughter as the balloon burst and splashed any unfortunate person with water.

Lastly, we went to bath and played at the river we went to just now.

At the end, it was the prize giving ceremony and photography session.

And that concludes my trip to Dusun Lazim! All in all, it was a fun trip!

Mock Exam is only about 2 weeks away. Can you believe it?! This will be my first formal exam ever since I came here. I almost forgot what it’s like to have exams anymore. Not to brag or anything. I know a lot of people would be like, “What? Aren’t you glad you don’t have to sit for exams?! What an ungrateful rascal.” I do feel happy and slightly more carefree being exam-less too. But if you think of it from another point of view, you’ll be able to see whether you have learnt anything or have truly studied and worked to your best. Don’t you think so? Anyways, work has been piling up and I think the upcoming months will be a hectic time for me. What with ELC and Muet coming up! Not that it deters me from coming online or having my usual entertainment haha. Gosh, I seriously need to buckle up. I’ve been procrastinating like nobody’s business. Other than that, I had a lot on my mind recently. The above picture pretty much sums up my thoughts. Unbelievable eh? Some pretty shallow + deep thoughts. Hahaha! Anyhow I firmly believe dreams will remain dreams if you keep dreaming on. Not that it has anything to do with what I’m talking about. I’m just trying to say, your thoughts will only remain as thoughts if you don’t start doing something about them. Alright, off to do some much awaited work now… Gotta cross off some of those things at my to-do list, no? :) Have a good week ahead, everyone!

我还没有睡呢，现在正在上网。呵呵，我们宿舍也正热闹的起劲！！听说明天要降温，别忘了多穿衣服呀！其实-- 其实-- 咱们明天一起吃饭吧？

有时候真的是看破一切！觉得我已经付出得够多了。平时的我根本就不会多理这些东西的。该做的都做了。

但到最后，你们只是记得自己人。不是吗？不管是谁都一样。没啥差别。不好的东西，就会推给人。好的东西却没看你们跟我分享。该说得一些重要的东西却没看你们一个通知我。要求一点帮忙就像要有回报。

不然的话，住在你的地方，就可以用你XXX 的态度来对我。

还有经济方面没办法独立，需要依靠，你就可以随意得答应我你其实做得到却没做到的东西，让我好梦一场，自己在那里爽。

或是你想找我聊聊，就找，不想就不找。当我一时好玩的是吗？

还有以前好会跟我讲友情永固却现在没看你们一个联络我。甚至还不回信息。哇噻，几永固的叻！我都快感动掉泪咯！

以前还会批评我的朋友，说是“好建议”，现在跟了你们所谓的“好建议”，反而更糟糕。而且可笑的是你们自己也没好到那里去。Practise what you preach.

哈！读了这些，别以为我只是在讲同样的人。这里不单单只是针对一个人而已。

我觉得我越来越讨厌依靠别人。只要依靠别人，我就会觉得好失望。终究，还是依靠自己比较好。

但好累，好累。。。
